How it works
Add a file or paste a YouTube link. Or start with one Bud already knows, like Amazing Grace or Danny Boy.

Hum a note, then slide from low to high. It takes about a minute, and the song moves to fit the notes you can reach.

Each line gets its own short lesson. When it’s solid, the next one joins on, until you can sing the whole song.

Your song
Long lines are split into short parts, and Bud tells you the one thing to try next.

The band plays in the last step when your key matches the song. Your file stays on your device and is never uploaded.
Prove it
Bud plays a note and you hum it back. Five notes, about a minute. No account needed.
More to try: free singing tests, including a tone deaf test and a pitch checker.
Also inside
A short warm-up, then the next line of your song. You pick 3, 5, 10 or 15 minutes.
Play a song in any music app with headphones on. Bud shows your notes live and tells you if it fits your voice.
Twelve styles, already in your key. No score, and no wrong notes to worry about.
30 exercises at three levels, and three short games you play with your voice.
Each person on the device gets their own voice check, plan and progress.
All audio is processed on your device. Practise on the train or anywhere the signal gives up.

Questions
That’s who Singbud is for. Pitch matching is a skill that responds to practice, and your song moves to the notes you can already reach. The pitch test shows where you’re starting today. It isn’t a hearing test or a diagnosis, and no one-minute test can tell you if you’re tone deaf. If you have concerns about your hearing, a doctor or audiologist is the right person to ask.
Any song you have as an audio file, or that you can find on YouTube. Bud finds the sung melody, cuts it into lines and checks them against your comfortable notes. It works best with a clear vocal. If a song is hard to read, you can sing it to Bud a line at a time, or open a MIDI or karaoke file. The built-in library sticks to public-domain songs and Singbud originals.
No. Bud takes the singer out only inside a lesson, so you can practise over the band. There’s nothing to download or export, and your song stays private on your device.
Never uploaded. All audio is processed on your device and your voice never leaves it. Nothing is recorded unless you choose to keep a take, and that take stays on your device. Song files are analysed on your device too. The one exception is YouTube: a video link plays in YouTube’s own player, so YouTube knows you watched it, as it would anywhere else.
You pick 3, 5, 10 or 15 minutes a day. Bud aims for five sessions a week, so rest days are part of the plan. If you miss one, your song is still waiting where you left it.
No, and it isn’t trying to. Singbud is a practice partner: a few minutes a day between lessons, or a gentle way in if lessons aren’t an option right now.
Learning to sing shouldn’t come with a meter running. You pay $39 once and keep it, for up to five singers on one device. The pitch test and free tools stay free.
